Overview
The course is delivered by a senior trainer and approved by IIRSM. This IIRSM approved course is designed to ensure employers comply with the law which requires all employers to assess the risk of work-related stress and to put effective steps in place to manage these risks. If you are responsible for carrying out Stress Risk Assessments, find out the effective and efficient way. Employers have a legal duty under the “Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations,” 1999, to assess the risk of stress-related ill health arising from work activities and under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. The Management Standards are not legal requirements, they are guidance which is intended to help and encourage employers to meet their legal obligations.

The course will help with meeting legal requirements and is divided into 5 sections and takes you through guidance on how to implement the Management Standards and understand the issues in tackling work-related stress.

Section 1
Why should you carry out a Stress Risk Assessment?
Explain the legal case for work-related stress and employers' responsibilities. Why you should carry out a Stress Risk Assessment. Why it is important to tackle work-related stress at source.

Section 2
Impact of Stress at Work
This section looks at the impact of stress at work and risk factors in relation to organisational, managerial, and individual. Causes of stress at work and interventions to manage these causes. Identifying employers responsibilities and the moral case to manage work-related stress.

Section 3
The Management Standards approach
Identifying the main risk factors for work related stress and describe the six key areas of work design. Helping employers focus on the underlying causes and their prevention and providing a gauge by which organisations can measure their performance in tackling the key causes of stress.

Section 4
Five Steps to the Stress Risk Assessment process
Takes you through each step of the process and identifying appropriate control measures being in place and the actions and required.

Section 5
Stress Risk Assessment tool
Stress risk assessment tool and a step by step approach with solutions to each of the stress risk factors. Evaluate risks, explore problems and identify solutions.  Carry out a stress risk assessment, action plan and review. Goes through the monitoring and review process and continuous improvement.
